Places to Go Hiking

Hiking is a great outdoor activity for everyone. When I go hiking, I like to go with my grandad. If you have never gone hiking, keep reading anyway, and hear about what it’s like. Maybe you’ll decide it’s something you want to try.

Some of the best hikes I have ever been on would be up by Baker Lake. You would hike around to these cool lookout sites by Anderson Peak; there are lots of cool things to see there, like this big glacier lake and this river that is this whitish-gray color from all of the clay that runs through the river. Although it is a beautiful hike, it’s a very steep hill. One wrong move and you’re going back down the mountain in seconds. So most likely, you will want to go with someone. Once you reach the top, you will find the remains of an old fire lookout. An interesting fact you may not know is that, before we had the technology we have now, we had fire lookouts in the mountains, and they were used to seek out fire. They would have these old roads to get down the mountains. Over time, as technology advanced, people stopped using the lookouts, so people decided to tear most of them down. That is why all you find are the remains.

Another place to go hiking would be Green Mountain. Green Mountain is located in Snohomish County. If you like hiking with less terrain, then this is the place for you. There are trial crossings of bikes and just normal walking, so be careful. It can be somewhat of a boring walk in some places, but it’s beautiful once you get to the top. The picture was taken at Green Mountain while I was hiking there;  the view was amazing.
