Thousands of jobs across the world work together to make society function. Different kinds of jobs require different skill sets, but overall, what is the most challenging job in the world? Would you be willing to take on the task of that occupation? Do you know someone you think could have one of the most difficult jobs? Consider how their work affects their personal life. What sacrifices do they have to make to get the job done? Would you be willing or able to do the same?

According to Valiant CEO, the second hardest job in the world is a healthcare worker. In order to be a healthcare worker, you must go through four years of medical school. As a healthcare worker, you work 24/7. You have to go through all kinds of people, and they can be kind or rude. You must remember to be there for the person on their worst day. As a healthcare worker, not every day is bad. You can have somewhat good days or even really good days. Regardless of how your day goes, there is no denying that being a healthcare worker takes a lot of physically, mentally, and emotionally strength.  

The number one most challenging job in the world is the military. It’s difficult just trying to get into the military, let alone being a part of it. To even be considered for the military, you must be mentally, physically, and emotionally ready for the training you will have to endure once you get in and everything else the military entails. Men and women everywhere put hundreds of hours put into training and preparation. They know there is a chance they may not get in, but they do it anyway. Working in the military can result in lifelong trauma from violence and seeing people die or even physical trauma from serious injuries. Anyone who enters the military is at risk of post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD, a mental health condition that can develop after someone sees or experiences a traumatic event. 

Think of what you do for a living and how it’s important. Consider the challenges you have to face every day. Every job plays a crucial role in the function of society, and every job has its ups and downs. However, being a healthcare worker and working in the military are undeniably two of the most challenging jobs in the world. The amount of time and effort put in by the individuals in these two careers is incredible and deserving of great respect.
