Seniors take athletics to collegiate level

Madeleine Misterek, Sports Editor

On Wednesday, April 23, ten Seahawk seniors who will go on to play sports at the collegiate level gathered with their parents and supporters for recognition and celebration. As they begin a new chapter of their lives, they will not leave everything behind. They bring with them talent, passion and dedication to their sport.

Athletic Director Phil Willenbrock hopes to make this recognition a spring tradition.

“I’m excited that they have a confidence and determination to be that ten percent of high school athletes that continue in college,” Willenbrock said. “Whether D1, D2, D3, regardless of level, it takes the same level of individual commitment to hang with it.”

Willenbrock is excited to see these athletes “take that be awesome to the campuses they’ll be on.”
