A Beast

A+Beast

Amber Dalby

They say a beast lives in the woods

Its heart is cold, its hair is mangled

humiliated and cursed by unruly tangles

This beast was not born but made by man

And they won’t admit they had a hand

Broken by Humanity

Cursed with looks

Any person would lose their sanity

They say a beast lives in the woods

And they would kill it, if they only could

Yet the beast still lives, but no one knows

His heart, his brain, where he wants to go

If they would just look a little closer

They would only see

Who this beast truly wants to be

They say a beast lives in the woods

Yet no one even goes there

These rumors about a beast, they’re not true.. I swear

For I am the only one who goes in the woods

And I have never seen a beast.
