 10. A Christmas Carol

With many different versions of the classic story of Ebeneezer Scrooge and the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future, it brings the audience closer together with its heart-warming plot. Ebeneezer Scrooge hates Christmas, he is rude to everyone and does not like Christmas. He spreads his famous saying “bah humbug” all around town due to his Christmas-hatred. However, one night the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future pay him a visit, and once they show him the way he acts, and how he would end up in the future, he immediately changes his attitude and is kind to everyone. 

 9. The Nightmare Before Christmas 

On the debate whether it’s a Christmas or Halloween movie, it gives one the thrill of the spooky season and the joy of Christmas season all at once. Jack Skellington is tired of the normal traditions of scaring everyone in the real world, so one day Jack comes across Christmastown. Christmas town is a place of joy and bright colors, which intrigues Jack. He then goes on to kidnap Santa Claus so he can take over the role himself.  Soon, Jack realizes that his plan may not go exactly how he expected. 

 8.National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation 

This movie takes comedy and morals to put a whole new twist on a Christmas movie. Clark Griswold originally planning the perfect family Christmas pesters his family Ellen, Audrey, and Rusty Griswold to make this one perfect, however, the plot takes a slight turn for the worse. When Clark’s cousin unexpectedly comes to visit and takes it upon himself to live in a camper on the Griswold’s lawn. 

 7. Jim Carrey’s How The Grinch Stole Christmas

Ever since the grinch was young he hated Christmas due to his mean classmates in elementary school, so he decides to ruin Christmas for them. Along with his dog Max, he decides to come down from the mountain top he’s living in and steal every holiday-related thing the who’s have including the presents. However, when he encounters Cindy Lou Who, his plans change. 

6. Edward Scissorhands

Edward Scissorhands is a film that combines drama, romance, fantasy, and a little bit of comedy all into one film. A very talented scientist decides to build a living human being (Edward Scissorhands). While assembling Edward, the scientist passes away, leaving him with big scissor blades for hands. While wandering around one day, loving suburban saleswoman, Peg finds Edward and takes him home and cares for him. Edward immediately falls for Peg’s daughter, Kim. However, despite his kindness and artistic ability, Edward becomes a social outcast due to his hands. 

 5. Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer 

Everyone knows this Christmas classic, so why not add it in? Rudolph is a reindeer that gets made fun of all of Santa’s reindeer (Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, and Blitzen) because of his shiny red nose that lit up. However one night on Christmas eve when an evil queen conjures up a storm, Rudolph is the only hope to lead Santa through it to deliver all of the presents. 

 4. Gremlins

A gadget salesman is looking for the perfect gift for his son and finds one in Chinatown the shopkeeper is hesitant to sell him the “Mogwai” but does it anyway with on warning- don’t expose it to bright light, water, or feed it after midnight. But low and behold it happens, and when it does the result is a group of gremlins that destroy the town on Christmas eve.  

 3. Home Alone 

When bratty Kevin Mcalister decides to act out the night before a family trip to Paris, he fights with everyone and gets sent to the attic to sleep up there. However, right before he wishes that he didn’t have a family, and low and behold, his wish came true. That night the power goes out and leaves the rest of the Mcalister family in an unorganized panic to get out the front door. While Kevin is still fast asleep upstairs, they quickly drive off to the airport completely forgetting Kevin. When he wakes up he quickly realizes that there is no one is there. Although seeming fun at first, it quickly gets old for Kevin once he realizes he has to fend for himself until his family comes back. While all of the chaos is coming onto Kevin at once, two burglars decide to rob his neighborhood. They soon find out that robbing the Mcalister house would be a lot harder than they thought when Kevin sets up traps to keep them out.

 2. Christmas With The Kranks

When Blair goes on a trip to Peru, Luther and Nora Krank decide to skip Christmas and go on a cruise. But when they let their small town know they’re not doing Christmas it backfires. Vic Frohmeyer and Walt Scheel are especially not pleased when they hear the news due to the fact that they want to have the best-decorated street. Soon, the Kranks soon find themselves social outcasts due to their lack of spirit.

 1. Elf 

Buddy was an orphan, but one night on Christmas eve, he climbed into Santa’s present bag and accidentally got transported to the north pole. So, naturally, instead of sending him back to where he came from, one of the elves took him in and raised him. When he finally finds out he’s not actually an elf, he ventures to New York where his father lives. When he meets his dad, Walter Hobbs, he is first reluctant to believe he is his son, however, when he takes a DNA test, he quickly tried to start a bond with Buddy, since he is his biological son.
